Methods for Preventing Damage to Boiler Wall Tubes.

overlay Welding (Cladding)

By welding, a coating with good bond strenght and thickness is produced. The disadvantages of this method: the occurrence of distortion in the pipe as a side effect of welding, limited welding material, cladding thickness affects boiler efficiency, long processing time.

Jacketing

By welding a more abrasion-resistant material to the wall tube surface. The disadvantages of this method: distortion of the pipe as a side effect of welding and if only a spot weld is done, the area that is not welded will become a gap for turbulence, affecting the heat transmission process, high cost and long processing time.

Thermal Spray Coating

By coating the wall tube surface with a material that is more resistant to abrasion/corrosion.
Advantages of this method: Fast workmanship, the material used is not tied to the base metal material, the cost required is not too high.
